Overview

The Housekeeping Notification feature allows the system to automatically send Email and SMS notifications to assigned housekeepers whenever housekeeping status or notes are updated.


This helps housekeeping staff receive timely updates regarding assigned rooms and tasks without requiring manual follow-up.


How the Notification Works

Whenever:

  • Housekeeping status is changed
  • Housekeeping notes are updated
  • A room/task is assigned to a housekeeper

The system will automatically queue a notification for the assigned housekeeper.


To reduce repeated messages and avoid excessive notifications:

  • Email and SMS notifications are grouped and sent every 15 minutes.
  • Any updates made within the interval period will be included in the next notification cycle.


This helps:

  • Reduce repetitive emails/SMS
  • Improve housekeeping communication
  • Avoid notification flooding

How to Enable Housekeeping Notifications

Follow the below steps:

  1. Go to:
    Setup → Default Settings
  2. Navigate to:
    Housekeeping Notification Settings
  3. Enable the required options:
    • Enable Housekeeping Email Notification
    • Enable Housekeeping SMS Notification
  4. Save the settings.


Once enabled:

  • Notifications will automatically trigger whenever housekeeping assignments or updates occur.



Notification Prerequisites

For notifications to work properly:


Housekeeper Profile Requirements

The assigned housekeeper must have:

  • Valid Email Address
  • Valid Phone Number

configured in the user/staff profile.


SMS Country Code Handling

The SMS country code is automatically generated based on:

  • Property Country Code configured under Property Info settings.


The system will use this country code while sending SMS notifications to housekeeping staff.


Notification Trigger Conditions

Notifications are sent when:

  • Housekeeping status changes
  • Housekeeping notes are updated
  • New housekeeping assignments are created
  • Existing assignments are modified

Note:
Multiple updates within the interval may be combined into a single notification.



Important Notes

  • Notifications are sent only to assigned housekeepers.
  • Invalid email addresses or phone numbers may cause delivery failure.
  • SMS delivery works only on US numbers.
  • Country code configuration should be verified under Property Info settings.
